2007 Greenfield G1 Brazilian
Michael Greenfield
When Michael Greenfield completed this guitar, he carefully showed it around his circle of friends and workers. He reports that all agreed that this guitar is likely the best Brazilian G1 to ever leave his shop. Sometimes a guitar demonstrates a little higher level of magic. No matter how consistent a maker's sound (and Michael is one of the most consistent in producing 'his' personal voice in a guitar), occasionally one jumps ahead of all expectations. This guitar is one of those. We bought it for our FGC inventory when it was new, and it found a home within 2 weeks. Miraculously, it is back again, in like-new condition. The seller loves to experience new guitars, deciding which to ultimately keep or pass on. He has a spectacular collection. This one has similar qualities to another he owns, so he is letting this one go.
The guitar is pretty well decked out. It not only has Michael's great cutaway, but the 'Grit Laskin Armrest,' as well. The guitar is rounded at the point where the right arm drapes over the lower bout, making the instrument more friendly to hold. The Alpine spruce top rings with purity and clarity, reflecting off the glassy and sparkly old growth Brazilian back and sides. Nice full reverberance without any indistinct notes--no muddy sound. It has that classical guitar personality superimposed on a steel string for which Michael is well known.
Nut width: 1 3/4 inches. Scale length: 25.4 inches. Lower bout with bevel is 15 1/2 inches. The upper bout measures 11 3/8 inches. The depth measurements are 4 1/4 inches at the bottom end; 3 7/16 inches at the neck joint. Body length is 19 1/4 inches.
