FGC's Mission

To assist you, the player, in being matched with instruments that inspire and excite you to passionately move your music forward.

And, to perpetuate the existence of makers who embrace excellence and are consistent in producing fine hand made guitars and amplification for our clients.

A Philosophy That Serves:

FGC is not like a music store that most of you are used to. When a music store gets in 'merchandise,' it needs to stay fresh. Get new guitars in--get older ones out. That approach has never appealed to me as a musician. In fact, we feel that business, money, politics and guitars should be intermingled as little as possible!

Our Philosophy: Music is an affair of the heart.
You will get the best heart-wise choice for yourself on a guitar if you don't cripple yourself with money issues. This is about priorities. Strive for fewer guitars of the highest quality--based on what instruments fit you best; For your body shape and your sense of tone and aesthetic beauty. We specialize is asking the right questions and listening carefully to you. We will help you identify where the chemistry is in you as it seeks an instrument that is the best match possible.
When wine lovers go to a local wine specialty shop, they sometimes want a special bottle for a special occasion. The gamble they take is that the wine may have gone bad over time. They don't get to taste the wine before they buy.

Our Philosophy: Music is Always a Special Occasion.
If a guitar is here in our guitar vault, it deserves to be here and is being saved for such a time when we can match the instrument to the right player. You can and should play these guitars before buying them. We have ways to make that happen for you unless you are in a remote part of the world. Like a fine wine, these guitars will benefit for being in our care for a while longer. They may be carefully shown as samples or just visited and carefully played by Richard and Dennis to help them begin maturing and 'opening up.'

Our Philosophy: We are here to maintain a variety of instruments, new or gently used -- in order to have the best choices for our clients.

Our 'entry level' guitar is no ordinary guitar! Each instrument is selected by Richard's high mechanical standards--We leave the tone to the player's discretion.
